Arts & Culture in Northern NH

There are many cultural activities and attractions in Northern New Hampshire that enhance the natural beauty and rugged environment of Androscoggin Valley. You will find live music venues, grand architecture, historical sites, shows and entertainment, quaint downtowns, and many family attractions.

The paper industry is a key part of the region’s history and lives on at the Berlin Historical Society.

The St. Kieran Community Center for the Arts in Berlin and the Medallion Opera House Theater in Gorham feature quality live entertainment. The Berlin & Coös County Historical Society provides visitors with a rich history of the area at the Moffet House Museum. If you want to learn more about the White Mountains, the Appalachian Mountain Club’s Joe Dodge Lodge has informative lectures about the local wildlife and history of the White Mountains and a children’s discovery center.

Each summer, we host a Free Music in the Park concert series at Service Credit Union Heritage Park in Berlin.

On the Milan-Berlin line is the massive Nansen Ski Jump that dramatically rises above the treetops. It was built in 1936 and in the day, was one of the largest in the country, with a 17-foot vertical drop and a descent angle of 37.5 degrees.

Storyland and Santa’s Village offer rides, characters, water parks, and family fun to last a lifetime. These parks are open all summer and Santa’s Village opens back up at Christmastime for their very special Christmas and New Year offerings.
